Banks may consider a transfer of more than 200 thousand rubles to oneself via SBP as one of the signs of fraud during cash withdrawals. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, citing the criteria of the Bank of Russia.
Such a transfer in itself does not mean a violation. The system looks at the coincidence of several signals: for example, a person took out a loan and withdraws money within 24 hours, changes the number for logging into internet banking, or suddenly transfers a large amount to their account.
Suspicion will also be raised by anything that does not resemble the client's usual behavior: an unusual time, a different ATM, an atypical amount, or cash withdrawal by a new method – for example, using a QR code.
The list of markers also includes a surge in phone calls six hours before the operation, changes in phone characteristics, malicious programs on the device, and five cash withdrawal rejections in one day. This is how banks try to catch the moment when a person withdraws money under pressure from fraudsters.
