The experimental long-haul aircraft Il-96-400M resumed flight tests after a long break. The aircraft arrived at Khabarovsk airport.
OAK explained that specialists will perform a series of flights aimed at evaluating the operation of new onboard equipment and modernized systems.
Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev explained that the Il-96-400M is initially uninteresting to airlines, which have already chosen Boeing and Airbus in this transportation segment. In fact, this situation makes the airliner illiquid in the domestic market.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, noted that Russia has already begun developing a new long-haul aircraft, but did not mention the Il-96.
