In Kazan, at the "Drone Expo – 2026" exhibition, the "Slon" cargo quadcopter was showcased, capable of replacing humans on dangerous supply routes. According to a representative of the "Groza" group of companies, as reported by TASS, the device is already being used in the SVO zone and has received high praise from military personnel.
The optimal load for the drone is 50 kg, with which it travels 12 km, drops the cargo, and returns. The maximum payload capacity reaches 80 kg, but with a full load, the range is reduced to 6 km. The main engineering feature is a pseudo-random frequency hopping system, making the device resistant to radio interference. If communication is lost, "Slon" automatically returns to its takeoff point.
The drone addresses the most dangerous task at the front line – delivering provisions and ammunition to positions where wheeled vehicles cannot pass, and it is too risky for a person to go. A 50 kg payload is no longer a small package, but a full supply for a squad. The exhibition in Kazan gathered over 200 companies from more than 20 countries and will conclude on July 10.
