The drone production plant in the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan continues to expand. This indicates an increase in capacity for the serial production of Geran-4 and Geran-5 drones, said military analyst Kirill Fedorov.
At the end of April 2026, construction of new buildings began there, south of the main workshops. The construction area covers 500 hectares.
In the western part of Alabuga, construction of two more workshops began at the end of June, Fedorov noted. In 8 months, two storage buildings were built, as well as at least one large workshop, which is already operational.
In July 2025, Timur Shagivaleev, CEO of Alabuga, stated that at that time, thousands of Geran series kamikaze drones were being produced in Russia.
Analysts of the Telegram channel "Voennaya Khronika" suggested that the production of Geran-2s might be reduced in favor of increasing the production volumes of Geran-4s and Geran-5s with jet propulsion.
