Russia to Launch Production of Import-Substituted Printed Circuit Boards for Printers

The first batch will be ready by autumn 2026

Russia is launching large-scale production of printed circuit boards for printers and multifunction devices. According to CNews, GS Group holding, through its subsidiary CTS ("Digital Television Systems"), will establish the production of power boards and high-voltage boards for the Russian printer manufacturer "Katyusha".

The first batch will consist of 50 thousand units. Production is deployed at the "Technopolis GS" cluster in Gusev, Kaliningrad Oblast. High-voltage boards are responsible for generating and distributing voltage to printing device components, while power boards convert mains voltage and distribute it among the elements of the printer or MFU.

The parties do not disclose the contract value. According to Olga Kvashenkina, CEO of SNDGlobal holding, considering wholesale discounts, the price could range from 250 to 500 million rubles.

Dmitry Vladimirov, Managing Director of Katyusha Group, noted that the large-scale production of domestic boards will allow for the rejection of imported analogues, reduce product costs, and increase the share of Russian components in equipment. Katyusha devices already use motherboards and contactless card readers based on Russian PCB material. CTS has experience in producing printed circuit boards — the company previously produced 8 thousand boards for domestic TV set-top boxes.

At the same time, as CNews notes, it is too early to talk about a complete rejection of imports. In 2025, the capacity of the Russian printed circuit board market amounted to 123 million square decimeters, of which only 24% were domestically produced. It is predicted that by 2030, the production of Russian boards could increase by 127%.
