Acceptance tests of the new UN-001 aircraft-type training FPV drone have been completed at the Center for Countering Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) of the Moscow Military District (MMD). This was reported by the MMD press service.
The device is recommended for serial deliveries to unmanned systems training centers.
Viktor Lobanov, director of the Neolit Research and Production Association (NPO) (developer of UN-001), stated that combat drones should not be used for training flights. Their training device is comparable in price to a combat one, but it can withstand up to 150 hard landings. After an unsuccessful landing, most often only the propeller needs to be replaced, he explained.
This drastically reduces costs at the initial training stage.
The UAV Counteraction Center is the leading educational and methodological platform in the MMD for training drone operators. Here, operators are trained for service in the Unmanned Systems Troops of the Russian Armed Forces for 3 months.
Military personnel study the tactical and technical characteristics of various types of drones, train on simulators, and then practice piloting skills on real devices.
