Whoosh has updated its training program for electric scooter riding rules and added a reward for completing it. Now, the repeat course can be accessed from the main screen of the app, and the earned points can be used to pay for rides.
New users will still need to complete the training before their first rental. However, the service wants experienced users to periodically refresh their knowledge as well: many violations occur not intentionally, but because a person doesn't know how to act in a specific situation.
The course consists of cards with the main rules for personal mobility devices. Users study them one by one and confirm their agreement with each point. Subsequent versions will be compiled taking into account the most frequent violations and incidents.
At the same time, safety issues concern not only rental but also private electric scooters: users of personal PMDs also face risks and must understand the rules of movement.
The company stated that in 2025, the number of accidents involving Whoosh scooters in cities where it operates decreased by 30–60%. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, over the year, the number of road accidents involving personal mobility devices in Russia decreased by 26%, with more than half of such cases involving private devices.
