The first production UAV "Geoscan 701" with the Russian "T-40" engine was added to the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade

GC "Geoscan": The aircraft-type drone is not inferior to foreign analogues in its technical characteristics

The first production aircraft-type UAV "Geoscan 701" from GC "Geoscan" was added to the register of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The aircraft is equipped with a domestic internal combustion engine (ICE) "T-40".

Experts checked the localization level of "Geoscan 701". The drone scored 1600 points. To be included in the register, it is necessary to score at least 1400 points (for aircraft-type UAVs weighing up to 30 kg).

According to its technical characteristics, "Geoscan 701" is not inferior to foreign analogues, the manufacturer's press service stated.

It is important for us to use domestic components and integrate them into existing products without reducing operational characteristics. We consistently work with Russian developers.
Alexey Yuretsky, CEO of GC "Geoscan"

According to him, GC "Geoscan" developed the "T-40" engine in cooperation with the Tyulgan Electromechanical Plant (TEMZ, Orenburg region). As a result, a unit was created that can be mass-produced, Yuretsky emphasized.

Alexander Kolesnikov, chief designer of TEMZ, stated that the development of unmanned aerial systems in Russia is associated with the localization of key components. In 2023, the plant began developing an aviation four-stroke engine for drones. Cooperation with GC "Geoscan" accelerated this process.

We expect that such projects will contribute to the transition to mass implementation of unmanned technologies and strengthen the positions of Russian developers in the global market.
Alexander Kolesnikov, Chief Designer of TEMZ
