Azimuth Airlines warned of a critical kerosene shortage, but the Russian government denied it

Deputy Prime Minister Saveliev stated that he sees no problems with fuel supply

Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev stated that he sees no problems with providing Russian airlines with kerosene. According to "Vesti", all carriers are operating flights stably and strictly on schedule, without refusing passengers or changing flight schedules.

On June 24, "Kommersant" reported on Azimuth Airlines' appeal to the Air Transport Operators Association. The carrier warned of a critical shortage of aviation fuel and asked for urgent intervention from the Ministry of Energy. According to the airline, the main supplier notified them of the need to reduce consumption by approximately one-third of the declared volumes, and alternative suppliers do not have available resources.

The most difficult situation is observed in the southern directions. Kerosene prices at Russian airports have risen by an average of 17% since early June, and in Makhachkala, the jump reached 64% - up to 157 thousand rubles per ton without VAT.

Against the backdrop of these signals, the government has already taken preventive measures. A temporary ban on the export of aviation kerosene has been introduced from June 1 until November 30. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Transport, and Rosaviatsia to work out the issue of Russian fuel and refueling complexes accepting JET A-1 kerosene, both domestically produced and imported. Rosaviatsia, in turn, intensified monitoring of fuel availability at fuel and refueling complexes throughout the country.
