Two Superjet 100 passenger aircraft of "Rossiya" airline were taken out of service in a short period after engine malfunctions were detected at Sheremetyevo Airport. The incidents occurred with a difference of approximately 35 minutes, after which Rosaviatsia decided to create a special commission to investigate the causes of the incidents.
The first aircraft was preparing for a flight from Moscow to Kazan. During taxiing, the crew recorded strong vibration in one of the engines. After assessing the situation, it was decided to shut down the power unit and return to the stand, without continuing to the runway. There were 79 passengers on board, no one was injured.
Less than 40 minutes later, a similar situation occurred with another Superjet 100 of "Rossiya" airline, which arrived at Sheremetyevo from Nizhny Novgorod. After landing, the crew received a signal about increased engine vibration and also shut it down, taxiing to the parking spot on one working engine.
During the subsequent technical inspection, specialists discovered the destruction of the brackets for fastening the pipelines of the high-pressure turbine clearance control system. Until the inspection is completed, the aircraft has been grounded.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, including the Superjet 100-95LR modification, are equipped with two SaM146 turbofan engines of various modifications, developed by PowerJet. These power units are used on most aircraft of this family.
Both aircraft are temporarily out of service. The causes of the malfunctions are to be established by the Rosaviatsia commission.
