The main vulnerability of "Pantsir" air defense during drone attacks has been named

"Voennaya Khronika": Human factor becomes the main weakness

Modern drone attacks have revealed a new problem for air defense systems. The main vulnerability is increasingly not technology or weaponry, but the human factor, according to analysts from the "Voennaya Khronika" project.

When repelling massive attacks, crews have to make decisions in seconds and engage small, fast-moving targets.

Further development of object air defense should follow the path of deep automation using modern radars, automatic detection systems, and guidance tools.

Physiological limitations of humans — reaction delay, cognitive errors under stress, and the difficulty of firing at small targets — objectively reduce the effectiveness of interception.

Experts added that while full robotization is difficult to implement for the S-400 "Triumf" and S-500 "Prometey", the "Pantsir" family of anti-aircraft systems can be fully robotized.

An unusual modernized version of the "Pantsir-S1M" was spotted in service with the Russian military, but with a new 1RS-3E radar station from the "Pantsir-M" version.
