VK-800SP engine for UTS-800 to eliminate dangerous vibrations

The power plant has begun frequency tests on the aircraft's airframe

Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has commenced ground tests of the new UTS-800 training aircraft with the VK-800SP turboprop engine. "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" publication revealed how the power plant is being tested.

During frequency tests, the resonant frequencies of the aircraft's airframe and the dynamic characteristics of the control system are determined.

This also makes it possible to eliminate dangerous vibrations that may occur in flight and to verify the compliance of the aircraft's design with the newly installed engine with flight safety requirements.

During the tests, the operation of the main onboard systems is studied: power supply, hydraulic system, control, landing gear, and avionics. Specialists check how all these systems function at various operating modes of the power plant.

Moreover, the UTS-800 has even attracted foreign buyers. They are drawn by the possibility of full localization of aircraft production.
