KMZ manufactured a large-diameter bushing for the 6DKRN 74/160-2 marine diesel engine, intended for the main engine of a complex supply marine oil tanker. The production of this critical part confirmed the enterprise's capabilities in manufacturing high-load components for marine power engineering.
The bushing is part of the cylinder-piston group and is considered one of the most important elements of the power plant. The reliability of the engine, its service life, and the safety of the vessel's operation during long sea voyages largely depend on its accuracy, strength, and wear resistance.
The product was manufactured at KMZ's production facilities using high-precision machining. During manufacturing, special attention was paid to observing geometric parameters, the quality of the inner surface, and the material's strength characteristics. Thanks to this, the bushing is capable of operating at high temperatures and pressures characteristic of diesel engines of this class.
The tanker for which the new part was manufactured is designed for comprehensive supply of ships at sea. The vessel is capable of transporting up to 8.2 thousand tons of fuel oil, 2 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 1 thousand tons of aviation fuel, as well as water, lubricants, and various dry goods. The reliable operation of the main engine directly affects the fulfillment of tasks for such a vessel and the uninterrupted supply of the fleet.
Representatives of KMZ did not respond to the request from "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" regarding which tanker was meant.
