The Russian system "Volna Kupol Garant" effectively blinds Starlink satellites with parasitic signals, preventing them from hearing subscribers on the ground. Dmitry Kuzyakin, general designer of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (TsKBR), spoke about the details of the complex's operation.
According to him, "Volna Kupol Garant" does not aim to disrupt communication between a drone and a satellite.
Its task is to suppress the operation of the satellite itself. To do this, it literally blinds it in the radio spectrum with parasitic signals, preventing it from hearing subscribers from the ground.
Kuzyakin explained that Starlink satellites are at a distance of 500 km from the Earth, and "Volna Kupol Garant" is a powerful device with a directional phased array antenna.
Its capabilities are sufficient to both disrupt the operation of spacecraft and disable them.
