"Tekhnosfera Rossiya": the total number of anti-aircraft systems is about 130 units

The Russian military has about 130 Tor series anti-aircraft missile systems in service. This was reported by the "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" publication, citing calculations from foreign sources.

It should be noted immediately that official information on the number of armaments is classified. As a rule, anti-aircraft systems operate in air defense units of various branches of the armed forces – from the Airborne Forces to the Navy.

The most famous version of the complex is the basic Tor-1M with 8 missiles. It is capable of engaging two targets simultaneously at a range of up to 12 km and an altitude of up to 6 km.

The more modern Tor-M2 already carries 16 missiles and can eliminate four targets at an altitude of up to 12 km and a range of 16 km. The reaction time to a threat is only 4.8 seconds.

Also in service is the autonomous combat module Tor-M2KM. It is distinguished by the possibility of being placed on any truck chassis or even a building roof; its characteristics are similar to the Tor-M2.
