80-barrel machine gun complex for RSF positions protection shown for the first time online

The "Dym-2" system combines automation, powerful volley fire, and round-the-clock protection of strategic facilities

Footage of the "Dym-2" combat module, used to protect Strategic Missile Forces facilities, has appeared. The video was published by war correspondent Alexander Rogatkin, demonstrating one of the most unusual examples of automated security systems in the Russian army.

The complex is a remotely controlled fire installation with eight blocks of ten 5.45 mm caliber barrels. In total, the module is equipped with 80 machine gun barrels and is capable of firing in a sector of up to 240 degrees horizontally and up to 75 degrees vertically.

The primary operating mode remains volley fire. The ammunition is designed for eight bursts of ten shots, but the installation can also operate in single-shot mode. According to available data, the complex is capable of hitting intruders, including targets in personal body armor, at a distance of up to 150 meters.

In an inactive state, "Dym-2" is hidden in a protected concrete well. Scheduled maintenance is carried out twice a year. One operator can simultaneously control up to 16 such modules, allowing for the creation of an echeloned security system for strategically important facilities.

In addition to weaponry, the complex is equipped with infrared spotlights for night operation, loudspeakers for warning of regime violations, and recorders that log operator actions and events during system use.
