Since April 2025, Russians have checked SIM cards via "Gosuslugi" 200 million times. The service helps to find numbers registered to a person with mobile operators and quickly decide what to do with suspicious contracts. Details were disclosed by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.
According to the ministry, through the online service "SIM cards", 1.4 million users suspended their communication service contracts. Another 533 thousand citizens decided to terminate their contracts completely.
The service on the "Gosuslugi" portal allows checking all numbers registered to a person with mobile operators. If there are unknown or unused communication contracts among them, they can be suspended or terminated directly through the portal.
The service helps protect against fraudulent actions with SIM cards, the ministry reminded.
The "SIM cards" service on "Gosuslugi" was launched in April 2025. It was introduced against the backdrop of new rules for the communication market: from April 1, a Russian citizen can register no more than 20 SIM cards. For foreigners, the limit of 10 numbers has been in effect since January 1, 2025.
On the first day, the service was used 5.7 million times. At that time, users could see their numbers from 42 operators, and the average load reached 7 thousand requests per minute.
