Russia already has a state standard (GOST) for anthropomorphic (human-like) or biomorphic (whose concept is taken from nature) robots, but it requires clarification. This was stated by the head of Rosstandart, Anton Shalaev.

The most important thing is to define the terminology and classification, and that's what GOSTs are for.

According to him, the corresponding standard in its basic version has been in effect for almost 3 years (GOST R 60.2.0.3—2022). The document defines the concept of a "biomorphic" robot, which are usually service machines, Shalaev added.

The head of the department stated the active development of robotic systems in the country and the world. Given this, it is important to make the necessary amendments to GOST, he concluded.

In Russia, no more than 10 companies are engaged in the development of humanoid robots (androids). These include Sber, "Aidol", "Promobot", NPO "Androidnaya Tekhnika" and "Fora Robotics".
