Russian families with two or more children have become the target of a new fraudulent scheme. Parents are informed about an allegedly approved "annual family payment" and are threatened that the money may "expire" if they do not urgently pass verification via a link, the press service of the Narodny Front's "Moshelovka" platform reported.
Scammers launch a wave of calls, SMS messages, and phishing links that visually copy the Gosuslugi portal or the Social Fund of Russia. Victims (parents) are informed that a "new annual family payment" has been approved for them.
Then, the person is directed to a website resembling "Gosuslugi" or the Social Fund of Russia portal. There, they are offered to undergo "account verification" or to provide a code from an SMS message, allegedly for generating an electronic application. In reality, this is how fraudsters can gain access to a personal account or steal money from accounts.
The scheme appears more convincing due to a real news event. Starting June 1, 2026, the Social Fund of Russia indeed began accepting applications for a partial personal income tax refund for families with two or more children – from 13% to 6%. This is what scammers use to make the legend seem plausible.
"Moshelovka" reminds: applications for official payments are submitted only through a verified personal account on "Gosuslugi", MFC, or Social Fund branches. You should not follow links from messages promising quick benefit payments.
Never tell anyone codes from SMS messages - these are access keys to your personal data. Do not follow links from emails and messages promising quick benefit payments.
