OSK showcased a new export marine rescue vessel of Project 21301 for submarines in distress

The vessel combines the functions of an assistant, diver, and research complex

At the International Maritime Defense Show "FLOT-2026" in Kronstadt, an export version of the new rescue vessel of Project 21301, designed for operations with distressed submarines, was presented. The developer was the Almaz Design Bureau of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

This refers to a specialized rescue vessel created to assist submarine crews stranded on the seabed or disabled on the surface. The platform is also designed to support the life of crews of distressed submarines and perform complex underwater technical operations. In fact, it is a multifunctional marine complex combining rescue, diving, and research capabilities.

It is specifically emphasized that Project 21301 was created as an export modification based on the previously developed Russian Project 21300 and takes into account the experience of its actual operation. The vessel is adapted to the requirements of foreign customers and an expanded range of tasks – from deep-sea search and inspection of emergency objects to work on the continental shelf using underwater vehicles.

According to the developers, in terms of the totality of technical solutions and functionality, the platform is among the most advanced in its class and is positioned as one of the most comprehensive rescue complexes for the submarine fleet.
