Flexible Truck Assembly Management: Ural Plant Digitizes Production Processes

A quality control system was implemented at the enterprise to alert about failures

A production process management system has been launched in the main assembly building of the Ural Automobile Plant. The initiative was implemented as part of the federal project "Digital Technologies." This was reported by the company's press service.

To create a unified information circuit for the plant, the system was integrated into the conveyor equipment. Thanks to this, assembly queue management became more flexible, and managers began to receive production process reports automatically.

Now they can assess the current production status at any time and promptly respond to emerging difficulties.

The plant also launched a quality management system that can detect failures and send alerts to responsible specialists.

Conveyor operators were given access to statistical process control tools, including Shewhart control charts (for real-time error analysis). These can be used to detect defects and predict the likelihood of their occurrence.

The Ural plant was founded in the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk Oblast, in 1941. The enterprise produces, among other things, Ural-M, Ural NEXT, Ural-6370, Ural-9593 all-wheel drive trucks, as well as Ural CNG gas-powered vehicles. In total, up to 15,000 trucks are assembled here annually. One of the novelties is the Ural-80 two-axle all-wheel drive truck.
