New generation "Svarog" solid-state battery developed for Russian cargo drones

SPC "Svarog": The battery stably holds its charge

Engineers from the Scientific and Production Center (SPC) "Svarog" have developed a new generation "Svarog" solid-state battery (SSB) for heavy unmanned aerial vehicles. This was announced by the center's press service.

A conventional lithium-polymer battery loses up to 30–40% of its capacity in the cold. A solid-state battery holds its charge stably – at a temperature of −20°C, it works where a conventional battery would have already given up.

Characteristics of the "Svarog" battery:

  • Capacity — 84,000 mAh
  • Charge voltage — 25.2V
  • Discharge voltage — 16.5V
  • Continuous current — 180A
  • Maximum current — 365A

The scientific and production center emphasized that the "Svarog" battery is safer than a lithium-polymer battery. Thanks to the high energy density of the battery, a cargo drone can stay in flight longer than with conventional batteries.

In addition to components for drones, SPC "Svarog" has developed a line of heavy "Svarog" drones with various carrying capacities. "Mikhalyсh" drones for water delivery, provisions, and ammunition are also supplied to the troops.
