The well-known kamikaze drone "Molniya-2" has been modernized and transformed into a reconnaissance aircraft. Drone operator Dmitry explained how this version differs from the basic one.
According to him, after completing its combat mission, the "Molniya-R" lands on its "belly" using special skis. There are also other differences from the strike variant – for example, the scout's camera.
This is a basket for two batteries, unlike the "Molniya-2". It has a pitot tube in front – an air pressure instrument that determines the direction and strength of the wind.
The capabilities of the new drone allow it to return to base even if enemy EW systems are actively operating. At the same time, intercepting the received video is practically impossible.
The basic version of "Molniya-2" is also evolving. Recently, the military received a modification with artificial intelligence and new types of ammunition for autonomous target acquisition and subsequent attack.
The built-in autopilot mode allows the aircraft to maintain its course and complete its mission even when attempts are made to jam communications.
