The sole developer of optoelectronic periscope systems in the Russian Federation presented "Parus-98E" at the "Flot-2026" naval exhibition

The device can search for surface and air targets by radio frequency emission

Employees of the "Elektropribor" Concern ("TsNII "Elektropribor"", part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) have developed a unified periscope system "Parus-98E". It is installed on all newly built and modernized submarines. The observation device was presented at the International Maritime Defense Show "Flot-2026" in Kronstadt, the corporation's press service reported.

The "Parus-98E" periscope system consists of a commander's periscope and an optronic mast (a retractable system that does not require cutting a hole in the submarine's hull for operation). The single product combines optical, television, and thermal imaging observation channels.

The optical channel is energy-independent, which allows for horizon observation even when the system is de-energized.

Features of the "Parus-98E" periscope system:

  • determining the distance to a surface target using a laser rangefinder
  • receiving signals from global satellite navigation systems
  • searching for surface and air targets by radio frequency emission

The "Elektropribor" Concern is the sole developer and manufacturer of multi-channel optoelectronic periscope systems in Russia. It also creates marine navigation equipment and communication systems for ships and submarines.
