Giant catamaran "Sommers-L" launched in Samara

The Project 04790 vessel is designed for transportation on inland waterways and in coastal areas

The ceremonial launching of the lead passenger catamaran of Project 04790 "Sommers-L" took place at the production site of ZAO "Nefteflot" in Samara. The project was developed by "Forss-Tekhnologii" company from St. Petersburg.

The catamaran is approximately 38 meters long and 9.5 meters wide. The vessel is equipped with two engines, each with a power of 400 kilowatts, develops a speed of at least 10 knots, and accommodates about 300 passengers. It is designed for transportation on inland waterways and in Russia's coastal marine waters. The vessel's class is KM[1] R3 AUT3 Catamaran Passenger ship.

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping accompanied the project at all stages. The project documentation was reviewed by the Baltic Branch of RS, and construction supervision was carried out by inspectors from the Astrakhan Branch.
