In Yugra, a new generation all-terrain vehicle "Trom 26" has been developed, designed for operation in conditions of complete off-road and in areas with difficult terrain. The machine was created by the "Trom" design bureau from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
The new all-terrain vehicle was developed from scratch in 2026. The engineers faced the task of creating a reliable and maintainable machine based on available Russian components that could effectively operate where conventional equipment loses its cross-country capability.
In terms of its carrying capacity and purpose, the "Trom 26" is considered a domestic alternative to the all-terrain versions of "Ural" and KamAZ trucks. At the same time, the key advantage of the new development is its ability to overcome the most difficult terrain — from swampy areas to Arctic territories.
The developers have provided several options for using the "Trom 26". The all-terrain vehicle can perform the functions of an Arctic bus, forest fire engine, pipe carrier, agricultural tractor, and other specialized equipment depending on the tasks at hand.
Currently, the design bureau plans to produce three to five such machines annually. If the number of orders increases, the company is ready to consider transitioning to mass production.
