The United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) must continue working on the world's most powerful nuclear-powered icebreaker – Project 10510 "Leader". This instruction was given to OSK by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
[We need to] continue implementing plans for the "Leader".
The President added that OSK must do everything to ensure that work on the icebreakers "Leningrad" and "Stalingrad" of Project 22220 does not stop.
The lead icebreaker of Project 10510 will be the "Rossiya". Its shaft power will be 120 MW, which is more than double the performance of existing vessels. The vessel's length will approach 210 m, and its width will reach 47.7 m. It is tentatively scheduled to be delivered to the customer in 2029.
At the same time, the Baltic Shipyard continues the construction of new nuclear icebreakers of Project 22220 — "Chukotka", "Leningrad", and "Stalingrad".
