The press service of "Max" denied reports that an outdated version of the messenger on iPhone stopped launching due to a mandatory update. The reason was screenshots from Telegram channels, where the application allegedly required an update, but it was impossible to update it after removal from the App Store.
The image circulating in the channels is a fake. "Max" has not used this format for more than six months.
Earlier, it was discussed that the developers allegedly did not disable the forced update mechanism, which could have caused some users to lose access to the application. The company did not confirm this version and stated that the circulating screen does not belong to the current messenger interface.
However, problems with "Max" on iPhone persist. After the application was removed from the App Store, users stopped receiving push notifications about new messages. The company previously advised iPhone owners to open the application themselves from time to time to avoid missing important messages.
The Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, also reported that the agency is negotiating with Apple about returning "Max" to the App Store. Earlier, Apple explained the application's removal by sanction requirements, but did not specify which restrictions were in question.
