The updated Lada Aura sedan will receive a more powerful 1.8-liter engine with an output of 135 hp, similar to the one installed on the Lada Azimut crossover.
As AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov announced during a test drive of the Lada Azimut crossover with the participation of Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the company plans to introduce a new 135-hp engine on the updated version of the sedan. At the same time, the current engine and variator combination will be retained for already produced cars.
Currently, the model is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine with 122 hp paired with a Chinese-made variator. In this configuration, the sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 175 km/h.
Lada Aura is built on the Vesta architecture but features an increased wheelbase of up to 2885 mm and an extended body, which added space for rear passengers. The equipment includes improved sound insulation, a rear armrest, leather interior trim, a more advanced audio system, and a refined suspension.
In fact, the manufacturer is betting on enhancing the model's dynamics without changing its positioning as a comfortable extended sedan, which the company previously compared to the Toyota Camry in terms of second-row passenger space.
