Tactical Headphones "Petr" with Encrypted Communication Unveiled in Russia

The latest military gadget from 3mx processes and highlights ambient noise with a priority on sounds of potential threats

Tactical headphones "Petr", which combine encrypted voice communication within a group and amplification of specific environmental sounds, have been unveiled in Russia. The development was created by the company 3mx, which announced the use of a secure local intercom without the need for radio stations.

According to the developers, the device allows for voice communication between group members at a distance of up to 30 meters, and under optimal conditions, up to 200 meters. Speech transmission is carried out using encryption, which, it is claimed, reduces the risk of information interception.

A distinctive feature of the headphones is their work with the acoustic environment: the system does not completely suppress external noise, but highlights specific sounds. In particular, this refers to the noise of drones, as well as faint signals such as footsteps, the crunch of branches, or stones. According to the developers' concept, this should increase the reaction speed to potential threats.

Device control and configuration are implemented through a mobile application, and the software supports updates, allowing functionality to be adapted to changing operating conditions.
