Rare photos from open space shown by cosmonaut Kud-Sverchkov

In 6 hours and 6 minutes, the crew orbited the Earth four times, performing tasks on the exterior of the ISS

Russian cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov published rare photos taken during a spacewalk on May 27. In his Telegram channel, he shared his impressions of working on the exterior of the International Space Station.

According to Kud-Sverchkov, the crew completed all assigned tasks. The most labor-intensive of these was extracting a cassette with the results of a molecular beam epitaxy experiment from equipment installed on the Nauka Multipurpose Laboratory Module.

The spacewalk lasted 6 hours and 6 minutes. During this time, the cosmonauts orbited the planet four times, flying over sun-drenched oceans and sleeping cities.

In the photo are the night cities of Saudi Arabia near the Red Sea coast, whose residents probably had no idea that work was in full swing in the sky above them.

He also admitted that the views of Earth from space had become familiar to him, and he was completely immersed in his work, enjoying the completion of tasks. The cassette with the experiment results will be delivered to Earth for further analysis by scientists.
