The newest fifth-generation Su-57 fighter was sent to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles. The video was shown by military blogger and analyst Kirill Fedorov.
The footage shows the combat aircraft flying at a low altitude, no more than 2 km. Fedorov claims that the events took place in the sky over the central part of Russia.
It should be noted that the Su-57 is quite effective at low altitudes thanks to the OLS-50M optoelectronic system and the Sh-121 onboard radar complex. They allow detecting plastic and composite drones even with a minimal reflective surface.
To destroy UAVs, there is a GSh-30-1 30 mm aircraft cannon on board, which allows not to spend expensive missiles.
