A new CNC vertical turning lathe has started operating in the bogie shop of the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (BMZ). The equipment was placed in span 11, where it now performs mechanical processing of running wheels and tires for shunting and mainline locomotives. This is already the third machine of this type to appear at the plant recently.
The launch of the machine allowed for the redistribution of production load: previously, similar operations were performed on equipment in span 8, which is now focused on processing gears.
According to the enterprise, the new equipment has already demonstrated stable operation and provides the required accuracy in parts processing. Structural unification with previously installed machines allows the use of existing tooling and instruments without additional costs.
This year, the bogie shop will receive two more CNC vertical turning lathes and one gear grinding machine.
The overall technical re-equipment program of the plant provides for the purchase of over 110 units of modern equipment. The enterprise consistently replaces machines that have reached the end of their service life with high-precision digital control machines.
