Power unit No. 4 of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has returned to operation and is working at full capacity after the completion of scheduled repairs. The work was carried out by station specialists, employees of the Lenatomenergoremont branch, and attracted contractors.
Scheduled preventive maintenance took 70 days. The team managed to complete everything five days ahead of schedule without compromising quality.
During the shutdown, engineers checked in-reactor systems, assessed the remaining service life of key elements of the reactor facility, and updated emergency and reliable power supply equipment.
Pavel Lavrentiev, Deputy Chief Engineer for Repair, reported that the personnel completed the entire planned scope of tasks for monitoring and managing the reactor's resource characteristics. He also emphasized that the early commissioning of the unit was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of all participants and strict adherence to technological standards.
Currently, four power units are operating at the Leningrad NPP, working in accordance with the dispatch schedule and generating a total capacity of 4368 MW. Units No. 1 and No. 2 of the RBMK-1000 type are in the process of decommissioning.
