Mobile Internet Restored in Moscow After Parade: Targeted Outages Explained as Drone Protection

All websites will be operational from 13:00, for now a "whitelist" is in effect

Temporary restrictions on mobile internet and SMS in Moscow have been lifted. As reported by the Ministry of Digital Development in its channel on "Max", communication operators are restoring access to usual services. Voice communication, home internet, and Wi-Fi worked normally throughout this period.

For now, a "whitelist" of websites remains, but from 13:00 on May 9, all resources will be fully accessible.

The Ministry of Digital Development explained that targeted restrictions are introduced in regions when there is a threat of drone attacks: disabling mobile internet helps reduce the accuracy of drone guidance and counter attacks. When such a threat is activated, operators are obliged to promptly notify subscribers.
