The Russian passenger aircraft Il-114-300 has surpassed foreign counterparts in key flight performance characteristics. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
We already see with Rosaviatsia that the flight performance characteristics of the Il-114-300 surpass all foreign analogues in this class. This applies to fuel efficiency, range, and payload capacity. Indeed, a very good economically efficient machine has been created, which undoubtedly affects the economics of operators.
The Il-114-300 is considered a deeply modernized version of the Il-114 aircraft. It is being created for regional routes where outdated An-24s, as well as foreign ATR72s and Bombardier Dash 8s, are still in use today.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade previously reported that the first three aircraft are planned to be delivered to the customer by the end of 2026. The main part of the flight tests has already been completed. The 2nd Arkhangelsk Aviation Detachment is expected to be the first operator of the new airliner.
It should be recalled that aviation expert Roman Gusarov stated the day before that the flight tests of the regional aircraft Il-114-300 were successful. According to him, the type certificate for this aircraft could be issued within the next few weeks.
