Russia has started producing "Skalpel" loitering munitions with X-shaped wings. This was announced by Rostec head Sergey Chemezov.
According to him, "Skalpels" are capable of diving on targets from the most advantageous angles and hitting equipment in the most vulnerable spots due to their high maneuverability.
In November 2023, the "Skalpel" kamikaze drone was tested in combat operations. UAV operators noted their good controllability and simple pre-flight preparation.
According to open sources, the drone's take-off weight is 10.5 kg, and it is equipped with an electric motor with a pusher propeller.
Cruising speed is up to 120 km/h, flight range is up to 40 km. Target acquisition is provided by an optoelectronic system with 30x zoom.
