In the next 5–10 years, Russia will have to fill the gaps in civil aircraft manufacturing, including the creation of aircraft with 2 to 9 seats. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the larger the aircraft, the more attention it attracts. However, the task is to fill the niches that remain "blind spots." He attributed the serial production of aircraft with two to nine seats to these.
One "Baikal" will not cover the entire need here. We need machines of different sizes with different carrying capacities.
Alikhanov did not specify how exactly this would be achieved. The minister referred to the need for "a number of agencies to work towards the development of light aviation."
Recall that UZGA is building the LMS-901 "Baikal," designed to carry nine passengers. Aviation expert Alexey Zakharov warned that the project has reached a dead end.
