In 2025, the air traffic control system developed by the "Almaz-Antey" concern operated without a single failure, despite increased loads due to drone attacks. This was reported by Dmitry Savitsky, Deputy General Director of the concern, who oversees air navigation solutions and dual-use products.
According to him, automated systems, airspace monitoring tools, and communication channels worked flawlessly throughout the period of instability. Air traffic control was maintained without interruptions, even during the most intense moments.
Savitsky noted that coordinating civil aircraft flights under conditions of repelling air threats creates extreme stress on both equipment and operators. A separate challenge is the rapid restoration of the normal schedule after the lifting of airspace restrictions.
The stability of domestic air navigation systems in real conditions is an important indicator of their readiness to operate in crisis scenarios. For "Almaz-Antey", this is a confirmation of the effectiveness of the engineering solutions embedded in the ATM system architecture.
