Russia increased electricity sales abroad in 2026

Inter RAO Holding sold 2.12 billion kWh to Kazakhstan and Georgia

Inter RAO Holding increased electricity exports by 5.8% to 2.12 billion kWh from January to March 2026. At the same time, electricity imports decreased by 3.7% to 520 million kWh. This was reported by the holding's press service.

The main part of the supplies went to Kazakhstan and Georgia. There were no export operations to China in the first quarter of 2026.

Russian electricity is transmitted to the energy systems of other countries via high-voltage power lines (PL). Inter RAO is the sole operator of electricity export and import in the Russian Federation.

The holding is engaged in the generation of electrical and thermal energy, specialized mechanical engineering, and engineering. JSC "Inter RAO – Electrogeneration" (part of Inter RAO) unites 22 large power plants in different regions of Russia, and also has a network of subsidiaries.
