Inter RAO filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court on April 30 against Power Machines, demanding the payment of 264.7 million rubles. Details of the case have not yet been disclosed.
According to representatives of Inter RAO, the lawsuit is related to a delay in the delivery of equipment necessary for the modernization of the power unit of the Kostroma State District Power Plant. A request for payment was sent to Power Machines.
The Kostroma State District Power Plant with a capacity of 3720 MW is one of the largest thermal power plants in Russia, producing about 15 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In March, the Russian government approved a change in the timing of the modernization of the fifth power unit of the Kostroma State District Power Plant, moving it from February 2025 to November 2026.
At the end of February this year
The Arbitration Court recovered 514.1 million rubles from Power Machines, owned by billionaire Alexei Mordashov, for delaying the supply of equipment under the program for modernizing old thermal power plants. The lawsuit was filed by Inter RAO.
According to the court decision, Power Machines was supposed to deliver the equipment by November 1, 2021, but the deadline was shifted by almost two and a half years. Mordashov's company explained the delay by production restrictions caused by the pandemic.
Earlier www1.ru reported that 350 million rubles were demanded from the manufacturer of the latest Alexandrite-class mine countermeasures ships for the delay.
