In a different form factor: STC is working on creating a small-sized Orlan unmanned aerial vehicle

The customer expects to receive drones that are less visible on radar

Engineers at the Special Technology Center (STC) are developing a promising line of Orlan unmanned aerial vehicles with reduced detectability. This was stated by an official representative of the organization at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) defense exhibition in Malaysia.

According to him, what the new Orlans will be like depends on the customer\'s wishes.

The form factor determines the detectability of a UAV. Of course, the customer intends to set us requirements so that the Orlans are less visible on radar and visually.

Consequently, the developers must reduce the size of the unmanned aerial vehicle while preserving its tactical characteristics, he concluded.

STC products are being presented this year at the exhibition in Kuala Lumpur. At the joint Rosoboronexport stand, visitors can see a sample of the Orlan-10 unmanned reconnaissance system.

Russian service members are actively using the fixed-wing drone in actual combat operations. It is being used in tandem with the Molniya strike UAV.
