The legacy of the Tu-95 and Su-27 has gone into the energy sector

ODK presented the NK-14ST and AL-31ST units at the INNOPROM. Central Asia exhibition

United Engine Corporation (ODK) presented the NK-14ST and AL-31ST industrial engines at the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia." The power units can be used in the construction of new facilities and the modernization of Uzbekistan's gas transportation infrastructure, the company said.

Let us recall that the AL-31ST is the "ground-based" version of the famous AL-31F engine, the "heart" of the Su-27 fighter family. Engineers adapted its combat power for peaceful purposes: the unit was converted to natural gas, producing 16 MW with one of the highest efficiencies in its class at 35.5%.

The NK-14ST was created on the basis of the NK-12 aircraft engine for Tu-95 bombers and An-22 Antei transport aircraft. The industrial descendant operates at an output of 10 MW.

The use of aviation units in the energy sector is a long-standing ODK practice. For example, the GTD-6RM engines based on the D-30KU/KP for the Il-76 have accumulated more than 5 million hours in total during industrial operation.
