A magnetic storm continues on Earth — bursts of geomagnetic activity in the range of G1–G2, that is, from weak to medium levels, are currently being recorded. This was reported by specialists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the IKI RAS and ISZF SB RAS.
The event is developing within the framework of forecasts. According to scientists, only one noticeable peak has been recorded so far, which occurred during the daytime and did not allow observing the aurora borealis.
At the same time, the probability of a new intensification remains tonight — in this case, the conditions for observing auroras may be more favorable.
It is expected that the geomagnetic situation will begin to stabilize as early as Monday. However, the influence of the coronal hole will be felt longer — approximately until the middle of the week.
