Users are massively complaining about failures during the iOS update — some iPhones freeze and stop turning on after the night installation. Now a new possible factor has appeared in this story — the Telega application.
Previously, device owners reported the same scenario: the smartphone starts updating at night, but the process is interrupted, after which the iPhone freezes during the loading stage and is completely blocked.
The blogger decided to test this version in practice. He simultaneously updated three iPhones to iOS 26.4.1 — only one of them had the Telega application installed. As a result, this particular smartphone could not boot even after more than 10 hours, while the other devices updated without any problems.
Employees of service centers have also reported similar cases before — many problematic iPhones also had this client installed.
The problems started after iOS began blocking the launch of Telega and warning about potentially malicious code. Later, the application was removed from the App Store, and the Cloudflare service marked its domains as related to spyware.
Against this background, experts recommend deleting the Telega application from the device as soon as possible to avoid failures and possible data loss.
The situation around the application has already raised questions before — it was suspected of possibly intercepting traffic. Now, risks for the devices themselves have been added to this.
