55 UTTZ-6241 and UTTZ-6243 Trolleybuses with Autonomous Range up to 40 km Received by Yekaterinburg with a Month's Delay

Ufa-made vehicles based on MAZ-203 received climate control, USB, and a ramp for people with limited mobility

55 UTTZ-6241.01 Gorozhanin trolleybuses and one articulated UTTZ-6243.01 for test runs have arrived at the Oktyabrskoye depot in Yekaterinburg. The vehicles are built on a MAZ-203 chassis, can accommodate over 90 passengers, and are equipped with traction batteries that allow them to travel up to 40 kilometers without connecting to the overhead contact system.

Each trolleybus is equipped with a climate control system for the passenger compartment, USB ports for charging mobile devices, video surveillance inside and out, and a driver condition monitoring system. The low-floor design provides access for people with limited mobility: ten seats are located in the lowered area, the middle door is equipped with a ramp and a driver call button. Navigation is duplicated in Braille, and a digital screen in the cabin shows the route, distance to the stop, and arrival time.

The new vehicles will replace the worn-out fleet on routes No. 31, 36, 35, 27, and 28, connecting Khimash, Vokzal, Akademichesky, and the city center. The delivery cost the budget 1.2 billion rubles, while the manufacturer allowed a two-month delay: the equipment was supposed to arrive in February, but only arrived in April. Deputy Mayor Rustam Galyamov promised to issue a fine for the delay.
