At Khabarovsk CHP-3, the first stage of a large-scale modernization of ash collection equipment has been completed, and boilers have been prepared for conversion to natural gas. The work is being carried out by JSC "Far Eastern Generating Company" as part of a program to reduce the station's impact on the environment.
The repair of electrostatic precipitators and aspiration systems at power units No. 1 and No. 2 took place in 2024–2025. In 2026, specialists are continuing to upgrade the first unit and will begin work on the third.
Following the results of the first stage, the station received a comprehensive environmental permit: an independent laboratory confirmed that the concentrations of harmful substances in the sanitary protection zone and near the nearest residential buildings do not exceed the standards.
At the same time, CHP-3 is transferring its capacities to cleaner fuel. The gas piping for the TPE-215 boiler has been completely installed at power unit No. 2. Commissioning and the first start-up of equipment on natural gas are scheduled for April-May 2026.
