The Pause is Over: "VK Video" Starts Charging for Ad-Free Viewing

After Traffic Growth and Overtaking YouTube, the Service is Transitioning to a Paid Model

"VK Video" has launched a paid subscription for users – now the service can be watched without ads on all devices. The new option costs 299 rubles per month and applies to the web version, mobile applications, and Smart TV.

For an additional 100 rubles, the subscription can be extended to "VK Music". As a result, for 399 rubles, users receive a single ad-free package in two services at once – video and audio.

You can subscribe, unsubscribe, or configure your subscription directly in your profile – via the application, website, or Smart TV. The company clarifies that this is only the first stage: in the future, "VK Video Premium" plans to expand with new functions and capabilities.

The service began testing the paid ad-free format back in 2025 – then access was given to a limited number of users at a price of 99 rubles to assess audience interest.

The launch of the premium is happening against the backdrop of the video service's growth. According to the company, traffic in 2024 increased significantly, and "VKontakte" surpassed YouTube for the first time in monthly reach in Russia. The "VK Video" service itself combines video content from "VKontakte" and "Odnoklassniki" and has been downloaded more than 100 million times since the application was launched.
