New terminal in the port of Ust-Luga for 80 billion rubles will start operating in 2026

The complex will specialize in the transshipment of dry fertilizers

A new stage of the "Port Favor" sea terminal in Ust-Luga is being prepared for launch in the Leningrad region. The project, worth 80 billion rubles, should start operating this year.

The new complex will specialize in the transshipment of dry fertilizers. The first export shipment is scheduled for July.

Three berths have been built on the site, the creation of railway infrastructure and storage facilities is being completed, and an automated control system is being installed. The bulk cargo handling line is in a high degree of readiness.

Thanks to cooperation with the Oktyabrskaya Railway, the capabilities of the railway part of the project have been increased from 7 to 10.5 million tons of cargo.

In the future, the terminal should reach a capacity of up to 14 million tons per year. After the launch of the second stage, 400 jobs will appear at the facility, and some employees will be provided with housing.

In March 2026, the situation in the port of Ust-Luga significantly escalated, and infrastructure facilities were attacked by drones three times. The most serious incidents were recorded on March 25, 29 and 31, when severe fires occurred on the territory of the port as a result of UAV arrivals.
