The Russian brand Volga is preparing to launch the K40 crossover in the Belarusian market. The company plans to organize production of the model at a site in Nizhny Novgorod, where Volkswagen and Skoda cars were previously manufactured.
The K40 has already received three certificates of conformity in the republic. These documents make it possible to obtain vehicle type approval and begin sales with the issuance of vehicle passports.
The crossover is undergoing the procedure in two versions with different powertrains. These are 1.5-liter engines producing 181 hp and 2.0-liter engines producing 218 hp, similar to the units used in the Geely Atlas IV.
In addition, the obtained OTTS is valid throughout the territory of the EAEU, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. This makes it possible to launch the car in several markets at once.
At the same time, the base model is already present in the region under the Geely brand and is produced locally in Belarus. What specific differences the Volga K40 version will receive and how the manufacturer will differentiate the models in the market is unknown.
